The Vinum Index "Best Bollicine" (literally Best Bubbles) is the guide to the finest Italian sparkling wines, offering a brief description of those excellent products for which Italy has been the undisputed leader for some years now.

Overall, the wines described in the guide confirm the great richness of Italian production based on the traditional Classic and Charmat/Martinotti methods, forming a distinct heritage in which many styles, reflecting the great differences which exist from one area of the country to another, are represented.

Of the huge number of sparkling wines produced in Italy and exported throughout the world, Vinum Index has selected the very best of the bunch. All of these are wines which:
- have received prestigious Italian and international awards,
- have high rankings in all the reference guides (from 85/100 overall).

Of these, particular emphasis is placed on the products which have shown constant and consistent quality levels in the course of time. These are wines which have been awarded at least 90/100 points in the case of the Classic method, and 88/100 for the Charmat/Martinotti method – for each of which we present a photograph of the bottle and a descriptive tasting schedule.

The wines, which are an absolute point of reference for the international winemaking sector for both historic and quality reasons, are classified as "TOP" products.
